All women of Bethlehem Lutheran Church are members of the Women of the ELCA and are invited and encouraged to participate in all activities listed in the newsletters, bulletins, flyers and bulletin boards. Bethlehem has an active Women's group, which is made up of five circles. These circles meet once a month for fellowship and bible study. Each circle meets on the third week of each month, except during the summer months. "Friendship" meets on Monday evening, "Faith" and "Patience" on Tuesdays mornings, "Rainbow" on Tuesday evening, and "Harmony" on Saturday morning. We also have four General meetings a year, where we all get together for a program and refreshments. The BELCW are involved in many activities and services, including; Alter Guild, Lutheran World Relief, Action for LSSM, Funeral dinners, Quilting Day and other projects. Stewardship Projects Remember to save unused all occastion cards and envelopes, cancelled postage stamps, stamps from Family Christian Stores and Gift & Bible Center, pop can pull tabs, Campbell soup labels, wrapped bars of soap, old drapes and fabric. BELCW Retreat
Sign up begins Sunday, February 5, for the 14th Annual Women's Retreat to be held March 24-26 at Little Pine Island. Our program this year titled "Seeking Forgiveness" will be led by Sue Hand. Sue is a certified spiritual director and a second year seminary student at the Edumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit. She is a past director of Stony Lake Camp and is presently an administrator at Immanuael Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant. Our weekend of seeking forgiveness will involve a three-step process, which will focus on acknowledgement, acceptance and healing. The cost of the retreat will be $70. You can register after both Sunday services with a $25 deposit to hold your reservation. All women are invited to share in this weekend of spiritual renewal and growth |
